About Christy Sanzaro

Christy Sanzaro is an art educator and artist located in Carbondale, Colorado. She received her BFA in Studio Art from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO in 2002 and a Master's in Art Education from the University of Denver in 2006. Currently, Christy continues to experiment in the realm of painting, working with oil and encaustic media. Objects and figures as subjects continue to concern her drawings and paintings pursuing a particular interest in the way light plays on form. Surface and touch are also of concern in her works as well. Her encaustics have a touch of whimsy these days as she is laughing and stumbling her way through raising two children and continues to be inspired by the students she teaches.
